What the Auckland Dutch Dancers have been doing!

posted in: Dutch Community, Events | 0

This month the Auckland Dutch Dancers have already been extremely busy performing in Kumeu at a Dutch wedding where they made them feel Viva-Eclectika-2016-posterlike celebrities!!! They had a fantastic time.

On Sunday 13th. March they attended and performed for a very enthusiastic audience at the 19th Lakeside Multicultural Festival 2016. The audience enjoyed the performance and felt inspired by their energy and enthusiasm.

On Sunday 20th March the Auckland Dutch Dances were invited to the Race Relation’s Day celebration, organised by the Pakuranga Chinese Association in collaboration with myself. There were many other ethnic dance groups performing and we enjoyed a fantastic Chinese dinner.

At the moment the Auckland Dutch Dancers are practicing for the Viva Eclectika Challenge 2016, which will be on Sat 2nd April at the Dorothy Winston Centre, Auckland Girl’s Grammar, Howe St. Auckland. This challenge is a dance competition and fosters a spirit of intercultural friendship in an explosion of creative fusions to promote unity, goodwill, understanding and positive race relations.

The President of the Dutch Dancers and their teacher decided to take the VE16 Challenge without having an interest in the prizes. We took this as a part of the journey of the Dutch Dancers.

We are practising with the Taiwanese and Scottish dancers and a bag-piper.

We hope that the Dutch community will come and support the Auckland Dutch Dancers on 2nd April. Here are the details to book tickets:
