Dutch Week 2023


It’s almost time for the 3rd annual Dutch Week! Dutch Week is filled with fun activities and events to celebrate all things Dutch and to enhance the visibility of local Dutch communities and the contributions they make to a diverse Aotearoa New Zealand.

Visit the "Vrijmarkt" in Holland House on Saturday April, 29th from 10am until 12pm, where there will be 20+ tables with children wanting to sell their stuff.

Or join the King’s Day festivities, visit the “Big Dutch Day Out” in Foxton, partake in the nationwide Orange Bike Ride, give the Speech Competition a go, or watch a Dutch film, there’s something for everyone!

Big Dutch Day Out (Foxton - 29 April)

 
The 10th anniversary of the Big Dutch Day Out will once again be a fun day out for the family filled with castle games, old odd Dutch games, straatorgel muziek, art, and klompenkunst voor de kinders. You can also feast on yummy traditional Dutch treats.

 Dutch Film Festival (AKL, CHCH, WLG, HAM , PALMY - 29 April, 2/3/7 May)

 
Dutch movies are different. They love to explore the more sensitive topics. Get together with other Dutchies and immerse yourself in cultuur uit Nederland - sit back and enjoy a movie at the Dutch Film Festival.

Orange Bike Rides (Nationwide – 30 April)
 
Dress up in orange and join one of our family friendly nationwide Orange Bike Rides promoting cycling as a sustainable means of transport for all of Aotearoa New Zealand to enjoy. Great prizes up for grabs!

King’s Day Party Auckland (30 April)

Speech Competition (Entries close 30 April, judging on 5 May)
 
It’s the 3rd annual Dutch Week Speech Competition. Dutch and Dutch heritage students in Years 9-13 are encouraged to participate in this rewarding competition.Entries in both English and Dutch are accepted.
