Orange Bike auction - Oranje Fiets
Many Dutch would agree: "Cycling is in our blood". The Dutch are also known to be keen on a bargain . . .
During their stay in Tauranga in 2023, the Dutch Women football team (OranjeLeeuwinnen) used Orange bicycles to get around. These bikes were donated to the NZ Dutch Federation and the Dutch Clubs all over New Zealand, including 2 for the Auckland Dutch Club! One was raffled in 2023, the second is now being auctioned here on TradeMe - during NZ Dutch Week 2024.
Proceeds of this auction will be passed on to the committee at Holland House, Penrose, Auckland. The auction closes on Sunday 5th May at 4.30pm.
Each bike was signed by one of the players, so it is truly unique.
Dig deep into your pockets and become the proud owner of this unique orange bike, which has hardly been used.
Vrijmarkt
The Auckland Dutch Club will celebrate the birthday of King Willem Alexander with the so-called traditional Dutch ‘Kinder vrijmarkt’, which is a flea market run by children!
We invite all kids with a Dutch connection to come and sell their toys, books, clothes, games etc. at the Holland House.
The setup of your table will be from 9am at the Holland House (123 Rockfield Road, Penrose) and the event starts at 10am until 12pm.
Everyone is welcome, and please invite your family, friends and neighbours. The kitchen will be open for coffee, tea, juice, beef croquettes and beef bites. Eftpos is available for the kitchen only.
To not be disappointed on the day, please reserve your stall (one table) for free (please note: one table per family). Remember to bring some change on the day!
Please rsvp before the 14th April and we will put you on the list. For more information and registration, please email: secretary@hollandhouse.org.nz

Quiz Night
Our annual quiz night is back at Holland House on the 18th of November, starting at 7pm.
We will follow the now familiar format with teams of 4-6 people taking turns at picking the topic and the amount of points to play for. The higher the points, the more difficult the questions. There will be 4 themes and one of them is Dutch / Netherlands related, but the other 3 ... what will they be?
Entry for Auckland Dutch Club members is $10 and $15 for non-members, this includes a free drink, and nibbles on the tables. The kitchen will also be open to sell some Dutch treats.
The quiz night has been an enjoyable and well attended event in the last 3 years.
If you don’t have a team, email qm@hollandhouse.org.nz and will pair you up with a team. Also use this email address to register your team, as that will help us plan the number of tables to setup etc.
See you there!

Monthly Dutch Market
Everyone's welcome at our next monthly market, on Saturday 8th July. Look out for the bright orange teardrop signs, and join us at Holland House (123 Rockfield Road, Penrose, Auckland) for coffee/tea and some delicious Dutch treats, whilst catching up and meeting other Dutch people.
As always, Go Dutch Delicatessen will be there with their extensive assortment of Dutch groceries, which includes a delicious selection of Dutch cheeses. In addition there will be a number of stalls with: oliebollen, poffertjes, filled speculaas, herring, smoked mackerel, eggs, craft items, as well as frozen kroketten and bitterballen to take home.
Owen will once again have witlof available for sale - be quick though, as he's likely to sell out quickly!
There will be a children’s craft / activity table set up on the outside deck. The kitchen will be selling coffee/tea, juice, kroketten, bitterballen, broodjes kroket and broodjes worst - which can all be consumed on the premises. Eftpos available.
As always, there is extra parking available across the road at Capital Press, 136 Rockfield Road!
We look forward to welcoming you to Holland House.
